Objets Sensuels : a disconcerting sensory journey

Founder of Métiers Rares and The Craft Project, in January Raphaëlle Le Baud unveiled her first exhibition ”Objets Sensuels” in the rooms of the Meurice hotel in Paris currently undergoing renovation. A sensual and almost clandestine first edition accessible only by word of mouth.

Divinely orchestrated by Pierre Yves Guenec, a New York-based scenographer, the intimate experience took visitors into the works of twenty-five craftsmen and women, drawing on the five senses. ” With the manifesto exhibition Objets Sensuels, I wanted to showcase the sensuality of the vital dance our artisans choreograph with their material ” confides Raphaëlle Le Baud. Our workrooms had the immense privilege of being involved in this event by draping several black fabrics on the walls of the rooms to create a subdued atmosphere.

We join Raphaëlle in warmly thanking Franka Holtmann, General Manager of the Hotel Le Meurice, and all her teams for the wonderful opportunity they offered The Craft Project to highlight arts and crafts and those who practice them.
