An ode to the craftsman's gestures

More than three decades ago, in 1989, Charles Jouffre laid the foundations of a beautiful story when he acquired the former Patard upholstery workshop, located in the prestigious Golden Triangle of the 8ᵉ arrondissement not far from the Champs-Élysées, Place de l'Étoile, and rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Today, this emblematic address enters a new chapter. On July 3rd, our ateliers revealed the metamorphosis of this showroom, redesigned by the Studioparisien interior design agency. A contemporary showcase celebrating the beauty of materials and expertise of the Par Excellence member companies who contributed to its creation.

In shades of white, cream, and cognac, enhanced by touches of black and cast iron, Studioparisien revisits the atmosphere of a Haussmann salon. From the layout to the finishes, each decorative element is elevated within a refined, uncluttered scenography that oscillates between classicism and brutalism. This unique setting also features furniture pieces created in collaboration with exceptional artisans. Laurene Barbier Tardrew, co-founder of Studioparisien, shares: ”The magic of each house's creations reveals itself to the others, resonating and creating a dialogue— a collective gesture, whole and harmonious.”.

Our artisans sheathed an elliptical ceiling lamp in Nobilis fabric, as well as all the doors of the curiosity cabinets in Toyine Sellers fabric, designed to hold numerous samples. Our seamstresses crafted a window treatment composed of a pair of sheers in Métaphore fabric, accompanied by curtains and a valance, designed by Studioparisien and made in Pollack fabric. On the furniture side, the showroom features new Mochi cushions and seats designed by Studioparisien: the Gia Sofa (Tibor, Blob), the Coqui armchair (Tibor, Gleneagle), the Sévigné chairs (Tibor, Brecon), and a Sévigné ottoman (Manufacture Royale de Bonvallet, Yosemite). The expertise of our craftsmen is revealed alongside that of our Par Excellence partners: ironwork, straw marquetry, mural painting, embroidery…

Thus reinvented, the Jouffre showroom becomes a place of encounter and creation, where savoir-faire is shared and mutually enriched. It offers a privileged setting for exchang with decorators, centered around unique and daring projects. The scenography celebrates the singularity of each talent within a collective spirit, combining ancestral techniques and contemporary innovations to bring ever more ambitious projects to life and offer truly unique experiences. “After 10 years of presence in New York, we are delighted to write this new page in Paris, which is in keeping with our mission: to make the art of craftsmanship shine”, says Stéphanie Desbant, director of Par Excellence.

Our ateliers would like to extend their warmest thank you to Laurène, Romain, and Bleuenn from the Studioparisien agency, and to all the member houses of Par Excellence, whose commitment and talent made it possible to design this exceptional showcase and write a new chapter in our story.

With the participation of : Atelier Francois Pouenat, Atelier de Ricou, Auberlet et Laurent, Ateliers Fey, Ateliers Lison de Caunes, Souchet, Manufacture des tapis de Bourgogne, HENRI, Atelier Lebuisson, Maison Meljac, Ozone, and Manufacture Royale Bonvalet.
