Finding Paradise: A Journey into Paradise at Jouffre’s Expanded NYC Atelier

From the rich, collaborative atmosphere of the showroom, visitors went on an experiential journey behind the scenes through ten thoughtfully designed vignettes within the newly expanded New York atelier, each a moment in Jouffre’s exploration of paradise. This exhibition was curated and designed by the Jouffre NY design team: Nikki Bregman, Corina Durrego, Cecilia Yoko Emy, Taylor Scott Ross, and Rich Sison.

Visitors began by passing through the Arc de Naturalisme, an entryway crafted from repurposed wooden crates, acting as a portal into a new world, symbolizing a threshold we are invited to cross together. This archway featured Carlos Villegas’ serene sheep sculptures, symbolizing family, unity, and tranquility.

From there, guests moved through a series of demonstrations that highlighted Jouffre’s core techniques. Theophane Ingold’s Wonderful Shavings series captivated visitors by demonstrating the process of transforming wood off-cuts and shavings into striking wall sculptures and lamps. The sounds of chisels and carving tools accompanied a live woodcarving demonstration by Carlos Villegas, revealing the precision behind each gesture. Jouffre artisan Eduardo Hernandez demonstrated neo-traditional techniques, reupholstering Guillerme & Chambron’s classic Petit Repo armchairs, that allowed Jouffre to integrate natural materials while perpetuating the highest standards of comfort and quality. In another space, Jouffre artisan Leodan Moran-Mosquera, showcased Guindage, the art of traditional spring-tying featuring the Teckel Sofa by Michel Mortier. Further along, textile artistry was celebrated through detailed demonstrations of wall upholstery by Jouffre artisans Johonny Herrera and Rosalba Manjarres bringing new life to the L’écho Triptych.

Brought together by Par Excellence, the vignette of Tête à tête celebrated the spirit of transference- Jouffre’s commitment to passing knowledge, skill, and creative opportunity to a new generation. The collaboration between École Boulle and Thomas Pheasant came to life in a serene space, where guests encountered Le Confident, a sophisticated sofa inspired by the peaceful ambience of Musée de l'Orangerie and upholstered in a handwoven and hand painted linen fabric by Manufacture Royale Bonvallet. The result reflected the power of mentorship and dialogue across generations.

Next, visitors discovered Main dans la main, a vignette dedicated to Jouffre’s ongoing collaboration with RRP. The presentation featured pieces from the Henge collection, a series inspired by Neolithic forms and landscapes. The growing RRP x Jouffre collectible design series reinforced the atelier’s dedication to savoir-faire, where designer vision and artisan skill shape one another through thoughtful and symbiotic collaboration.

Finally, the guests were welcomed home, with vintage pieces upholstered with fabrics from Toyine, À la maison. Anchoring this intimate parlor scene, guests encountered Federico Munari’s grand Curved Sofa, a mid-century Italian design reimagined in rich olive-toned textile by Toyine Sellers. The Clam Chairs by Arnold Madsen, upholstered in Toyine Sellers’ Phinda Re-Vingt-Quatre, exuded gentle elegance. Framing the space, two works by Jouffre’s own Reid Sullivan, Andrin’s Lathe and Yellow Window, drew the eye in with their meticulous leather marquetry, capturing intimate studio scenes and translating them into rich works. At the heart of the space stood a sleek Coffee Table and the Squeeze Floor Lamp by Studio LOHO—crafted from lacquered aluminum and naturally dyed leather. Nearby, Toyine Sellers’ handwoven throw blankets added layers of warmth, complementing the hand-sewn Leather Roman Shade by Jouffre, made with fabric from Toyine Sellers. These final details completed the journey, inviting guests to rest, reflect, and return home inspired.

Paradis Trouvé was more than an exhibition, it was an immersive celebration of community, creativity, and sustainability. This transformative experience fostered meaningful connections, inspired deep reflections, and invited visitors to discover their own personal paradise. At Jouffre, we believe that perhaps paradise isn’t found—it is made.
