1925-2025. Cent ans d’Art déco Maxime d'Angeac x Orient Express

Starting October 22, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs presents 1925–2025: A Century of Art Deco, an exhibition marking one hundred years of this influential style through striking contemporary scenography.

One of the highlights is the legendary Orient Express, an icon of luxury travel and a key partner of the event. Under the museum’s vast nave, visitors can see the first glimpses of the future train: a project where every hand-drawn detail reflects refinement and exacting standards. The showcase includes a cabin from the historic Étoile du Nord train alongside three models of the reinvented Orient Express, created under the artistic direction of Maxime d’Angeac in a dialogue between heritage and modernity. French craftsmanship is at the heart of the display—cabinetmaking, goldsmithing, bronze work, and upholstery—immersing visitors in an atmosphere where time feels suspended.

Guided by a constant pursuit of perfection, our teams have applied all their expertise and attention to detail to this legendary project, crafting the bespoke furniture pieces entrusted to them. The bar's benches and armchairs, with their enveloping shapes and highly precise finishes, create an atmosphere that is both welcoming and sophisticated.

In the restaurant, armchairs with harmonious geometric lines create an elegant setting, revealing a balance between comfort, perfect proportions, and formal beauty. Finally, in the bedroom, the sofa bed, armchair, and ottoman come together in perfect stylistic continuity to create a true cocoon.

This exhibition crowns several years of work and an extraordinary challenge for our teams, ahead of the train's final delivery. We are proud to have been part of this exceptional project and would like to thank Maxime d'Angeac for the trust he has placed in our workshops. Together, we have pushed creative and technical boundaries to bring bold and innovative ideas to life.
