“Decorating is intimate and personal. As a designer, you have to be able to let go of your ego and design a personalized space that is going to reflect the people who live there”> Visit website
Anyone who steps into this exceptional space, bathed in sunlight and reflections of the Atlantic Ocean, is instantly transported into a dreamlike universe. To adorn it, AD-100 Designer Joe Nahem from the architecture firm Fox-Nahem has called upon the savoir-faire and creativity of artisans from around the world. Our American teams had the honor of contributing to this eminent project by crafting upholstery pieces.
The spaces are sequenced, differentiated, yet largely open - this was the wish of the clients. An expression of freedom itself, the living room boasts large windows with a 180- degree view of the horizon. Adorning the walls with white oak and cream plaster, the designer has created an environment that is both relaxed, seaside-inspired, and luxurious. The furniture present is a delicate blend of design and craftsmanship. Everything comes together and adjusts in perfect harmony. Around the coffee table, you'll find a Fox-Nahem designed swivel chair crafted by our upholsterers. It has been enriched by Maison Lesage with highly elaborate embroideries requiring several hours of work and excellent savoir-faire. The seat is placed alongside a large "On the Rocks" sofa imagined by Italian designer Francesco Binfaré (distributed by ddc) and rests on an undulating woven wool rug by Dana Barnes Studio. Other remarkable pieces complete the room's decoration, such as a constantly evolving video artwork by Dutch artist Jacco Olivier, or a suspended leather Louis Vuitton "Cocoon" armchair by Fernando and Humberto Campana.
The master suite is a true cocoon where curves and lines converse harmoniously. To furnish the space, our upholsterers crafted and assembled the bed’s frame and headboard. The room is adorned with a customized mohair looped bedspread and curtains, with chenille, and silver mylar by David S. Gibson. Its base, made of lucite blocks, rests on a stunning hand-sewn rug by Portuguese artist Vanessa Barragão, decorated with coral reef motifs. The twins’ bedroom is adorned with soothing shades borrowed from the world of flowers and enriched with textures such as velvet. Here again, our artisans skillfully crafted the two custom beds and their headboards. These have been covered in "Phlox" fabric, a soft and sensual material developed by Belgian designer Raf Simons. Designer Joe Nahem also had the Geoffrey Harcourt chaise longues reupholstered in a fabric from Elitis, the only pieces of furniture brought over from the previous apartment.
