The New York workshops are moving

2017 is set to be highly emotional for the ateliers Jouffre, and particularly for the New York branch which is about to move into a new workshop. Still located in Long Island City, near the Court Square subway station, this location is ideal given that it is only one station away from Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, on the M and E trains. The G train, the F train and the 7 train also run at Court Square. It is thus easy to access to the workshops, rare privilege in this busy city.

However, the team should not be too disoriented by the new space, located right across the street from the current workshop. Already under construction, the new workshop is twice the size of the former one!

It is in this new space of 11.840 sq ft that the craftsmen will handmake drapery and furniture. This huge area can welcome at least twelve people within the workshops, and nine in the office. Thanks to the constant increasing demand, the workspace needed to be enlarged. Seamstresses, upholsterers, account managers and workshop managers will now be working side by side, making the communication between the different hubs easier.

This space will indeed gather the drapery and furniture workshops, but also the furniture storage, cutting tables, fabric storage, office, kitchen, as well as a conference room for meetings between Lyon and New York. Moreover, a waiting room will be fitted out Jouffre-style, allowing clients to be at the heart of the artistic creation process and fabrication.

It is with this exciting prospect in mind that the ateliers round off 2016, ready to flood into this new environment that will house a modern equipment and new machines, giving a glimpse to great achievements for the upcoming year.
