Pierre Yovanovitch Unveils His Premier U.S. Gallery in New York City

Last December, Yovanovitch celebrated the launch of his inaugural American galery amidst the storied streets of Chelsea, an iconic district of New York City. The selection of Chelsea as the canvas for his first stateside furniture gallery and exhibition space is deliberate, embodying a confluence of artistic expression. The palette of warm, neutral hues is meticulously curated, harmonizing seamlessly with the showcased pieces, thus weaving a tapestry of visual tranquility that elevates the space's design and scenography.

Perched atop the pre-war edifice at 555 W 25th Street, surrounded by a vibrant tapestry of art galleries, this expansive venue spans nearly 10,000 square feet. It boasts a rooftop terrace and a flowing sequence of rooms on a single level, blending exhibition areas with office spaces. This creates an inviting ambiance enriched by the display of approximately 80 exquisite furniture pieces and lighting fixtures from the Pierre Yovanovitch Furnishings collection, complemented by a handpicked selection of contemporary art curated by Yovanovitch himself.

Dominating the center of this artistic enclave is a striking plaster fireplace, a cornerstone of the gallery's design narrative, infusing the space with a warm, inviting glow. Each signature piece, from the asymmetrical elegance of the Asymmetry chair to the comforting embrace of the Mama Bear, and the playful charm of the Mrs and Mr Oops chairs, is born from a symbiotic partnership with Lyon's finest upholstery artisans. This collaboration underscores Yovanovitch's dedication to the revered traditions of French craftsmanship.

The designer's global acclaim is underscored by his collection of visionary pieces, including the sculptural Hopper bar stools, the ethereal Clover chandelier, and the captivating Callas lamp. Beyond his own creations, the Pierre Yovanovitch Furnishings gallery showcases an elite selection of artworks by luminaries such as Francesco Clemente, Camille Henrot, and Wolfgang Tillmans. This new sanctuary of Yovanovitch offers a sanctuary for connoisseurs of art and design, a place where the rich tapestry of historical and architectural heritage blends effortlessly with a modern aesthetic, crafting an immersive and refined experience.
