Jouffre at the Elysée

The Grande Exposition du Fabriqué en France, showcasing companies, craftsmen, producers and manufacturers fully committed to French manufacturing, returned to the Elysée Palace on July 1st and 2nd.

For this 3rd edition, French President Emmanuel Macron wanted to showcase products that are part and parcel of an environmentally-friendly production approach, helping to maintain regional savoir-faire and promote local economic development.

After submitting our application, our Lyon-based ateliers were chosen to represent the Rhône département in this exceptional venue. Among the 124 products on display from all departments, our workrooms made a strong impression with their iconic piece, Jean Royère's "Polar Bear" sofa. Fully committed to eco-responsibility criteria, the sofa is entirely handmade by our craftsmen using ancestral techniques and designed from natural materials: solid beech frame, springs, jute cloth, animal and vegetable hair, wool, cotton, down and feathers. Behind its design lies a long process of reflection, study and development, resulting in a sofa that combines tradition and modernity. The Polar Bear sofa is a true work of art, embodying the best of contemporary craftsmanship and the timeless style and creative genius of Jean Royère.

All our teams would like to extend their warmest thanks to our customers, partners and friends who came to visit us at this exhibition, as well as to the Elysée Palace and the French Presidency for this wonderful opportunity.
