Located in the heart of the eighth arrondissement of Paris, Avenue Montaigne reflects every idea which one can have of the French capital. This high place of Parisian fashion hosts many French and foreign Haute Couture stores, much to the delight of high-end shopping aficionados and renowned palaces.
A few years ago, a discrete heiress who is both a collector and an enthusiast for decor acquired two apartments on Avenue Montaigne, leading straight to the Champs Elysées. For the renovation of these two large Haussmannian apartments, she had only one wish: to call on interior designer Joseph Dirand to rewrite the history of this pied-à-terre.
It is then without specifications and with a total carte blanche that the interior designer, known for the beauty of residential and hotel projects, has given his imagination free rein to design the apartment of over 600 square meters. What to do with these large spaces? How to keep the charm of this residence while bringing a subtle touch of novelty? It is with the infinite confidence of the owner that the architect confides he "thought of this apartment as the suite of a luxury hotel, with the casual nature of today's way of living”.
Our craftsmen had the opportunity to collaborate with Joseph Dirand on several of his projects, such as the realization of the restaurants Shun & Le Jardinier in New-York. This time again, we took part in the beautiful adventure.
In the living room, a modern and refined space, our upholsterers have created two large white sofas as well as a set of backand seat cushions made in a fabric by Knoll Textiles. In this room, two white benches, visually similar to stone, were upholstered by our craftsmen with the same fabric as the sofa and installed to bring structure to the room. These two pieces of furniture were made in collaboration with Ateliers Saint Jacques, one of our faithful partners at Par Excellence.
To decorate the kitchen and dining room, our upholsterers brought to life fourteen identical chairs whose wooden frame was upholstered in two different fabrics by Sandra Jordan, known for her wide range of luxury interior design textiles.
The two suites of the apartment, with their soft and soothing colors, are accessorized with four Bocca armchairs designed by Joseph Dirand and manufactured by our craftsmen in a Verel de Belval fabric. Each of these four armchairs has a loose seat cushion for optimal comfort. Another Bocca armchair takes its place in the main room, this time covered with a beige Shearling leather, in perfect harmony with the tone of the room.
Our installers worked on the wall upholstery for the entrance, three bedrooms and several corridors of the apartment. The different panels were sheathed in Holland & Sherry fabrics. Our seamstresses took pleasure in making a pair of curtains lined with an unbleached sateen for one of the apartment's windows.
